band "Scissor Fits" failed to show up. Steve and George.

Jersey Tour. 8-11 Feb. Gerald Durrel Gorilla Sanctuary and Nazi
Underground Hospital. Millions of stars at night. Soya mince cooked up on
solid fuel camp stove. Steve, George and Nick.

Dorset – Poole Harbour Area. 14-16 March. Went down in George’s Hillman
Minx. Early morning(!) canoeing in Poole Harbour, not knowing what time it
was. Charity shopping in Swanage, leading to dapper attire. Steve, George and
Nick.

Lake District. Easter 4-7 April. Hot sunny Easter weekend, despite
appalling weather forecasts. Camped on school rugby pitch. Hikers/Bikers Bar!
Showered in waterfall as buses queued to get over the Kirkstone Pass.
Lakesides packed with littering tourists but mountains deserted. Steve and
Martin.

Pagham. 24-26 May. Took canoes and practiced Eskimo Rolling in the sea.

Iceland. 5-19 June. Youth Hostel Tour. Flies at Lake
Myvatn. Met Ken the
photographer and were introduced to "club shots". Steve and George.

Chilterns Tour. 11-13 July. Henley, Nettlebed and Turville (windmill).

Andover Area. 8-10 August. Quaint villages and thatched roofs. Music of
the day - The Clash "Complete Control/Jail Guitar Doors". Steve, Nick and
Martin.

Great Yarmouth (Norfolk Coastal Walk Part 3). 22-25th August. Steve,
George, Richard, Debbie, Jim, Roy and Glenn. Met Darren Rowe and Mick "Whitton" on
Saturday night.

North Downs. 19-21 September. Ranmore Arms to South
Holmwood. Camp fire at Coldharbour. Steve and George.

Bath and Cheddar. 7-11 November. Saw "Elephant Man" at cinema in Bath. Lay
on backs waiting for pub to open, Chew Valley Lake. Acquired new sleeping
sheet at YHA, replacing "ghost costume". Steve and George.

George Down Under. November 1980 to August 1981. George's formative tour
of Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Devil’s Punchbowl. 17-21 December. Incessant rain, shanting and Chinese
takeaway. Chidums real ale! "We've never seen anybody drink two pints of
Chidums and remain standing." We had about six and asked if they had anything
with a bit more poke! Steve and Martin.
